要在閱讀得高分，文法概念不可少，而同學們最常混淆的文法概念就是分詞。到底做選擇題的時候，要怎麼判斷使用現在分詞或過去分詞呢？以下我們就用5個問題來做說明，但是同學必須自己先做答看看，如果您能連過五關，那麼分詞就難不倒您啦！

1. The manager of the marketing department stipulated that every copywriting should be reviewed by him before           publication.

a. sending for
b. send for
c. is sent for
d. sent for

答案：(d)。
Before子句的主詞為copywriting(廣告文案)，因為相同的主詞可以省略而去除；動詞因為是被動is sent for，因此去除be動詞，保留過去分詞作被動使用。原句為：…before it (the copywriting) is sent for publication。

2. The broker was arrested                    an insider trade scandal.

a. involving in
b. involve in
c. involved in
d. had involved in

答案：(c)。
原句為：The broker was arrested because he was involved in an insider trade scandal. 兩個子句的主詞相同，因此省略附屬子句的主詞，而且將連接詞because去除；was involved in是屬於被動的用法，因此去除be動詞，保留過去分詞作被動使用。

3.                    your bank account, this statement pinpoints the transactions you have done for this month.

a. Regarding
b. Regarded
c. Being regarded
d. Having regarded

答案：(a)。

Regarding something (concerning something)是一種書寫的慣用法，意指關於…。其主要子句的主詞可以是人，也可以是物，不會有dangling structure主動詞不一的情況。

4.             the safety of his daughter, the president of the multi-national company decided to trade a great amount of ransom with the kidnappers.

a. Concerning
b. Concerned with
c. Having concerned with
d. Being concerned with

答案：(b)。

原句為：Because he was concerned with the safety of his daughter, the president of multi-national company decided to trade a great amount of ransom with the kidnappers. 這裡的concerned with是關心的意思，而不是關於，所以不能使用現在分詞concerning，必須用過去分詞concerned。因為主詞相同，去除附屬子句的主詞和連接詞，保留過去分詞作為關心的意思。

5. The manager began to         when the employee came up with various excuses for absence all the time.

a. get annoying
b. get annoyed
c. annoy
d. have been annoyed

答案：(b)。

過去分詞Get annoyed是自己很煩，而現在分詞get annoying是使他人很煩，兩者意思不同；就如同I am interesting(我是一個有趣的人)和I am interested in movies(我對電影感興趣)。這裡是指經理被煩死了，所以要用過去分詞get annoyed。
